Web Design & Development That Ranks, Converts, and Scales
WebBirds is a web design and development agency in Mesquite, Texas, building high-performance websites for growing businesses across Dallas Fort Worth, and worldwide. We combine custom design, WordPress and Webflow development, and AI-driven automation so your site doesn't just look good. It loads fast, ranks in search, and turns visitors into customers.
Every site is built on clean, documented architecture with reusable content blocks so your marketing team updates pages without a developer, and you own the code outright.
What Goes Into Every WebBirds Website Build
1
Audit Before We Build
Every high-performing website starts with knowing what you're working with. We audit your current site's architecture, page speed, and technical SEO health flagging Core Web Vitals failures, broken links, indexation problems, and content gaps, then mapping every URL so no ranking is lost in the rebuild.
2
Build the Backbone
This is where strategy takes shape. Each approved design becomes a live template, with global elements and reusable content blocks forming a scalable framework across your site. Built from the ground up for page speed, WCAG accessibility, and the semantic structure that search engines and AI assistants reward.
3
Migrate and Review
Our content team moves your content — new or existing into the new templates and blocks, with 301 redirects mapped for every changed URL. Each page is then reviewed by one person from each discipline: creative lead, designer, content lead, and project manager, before anything goes live.

We work with clients worldwide NGOs, early-stage e-commerce brands, law firms, contractors, galleries, and established names in self-care and lifestyle. 10 Years of Untangling Website Complexity
WordPress
The most widely used CMS on the web. We've built and scaled WordPress sites for over 10 years still our default for content-rich, SEO-driven projects. Best for teams that publish regularly and need maximum flexibility.
Webflow
Our preferred low-code platform design freedom without development overhead, backed by clean semantic markup, managed hosting, and built-in SEO controls. Best for design-led marketing sites with a stable content model.
Shopify
Built for e-commerce-first brands. Shopify handles payments, inventory, tax, and PCI compliance, so build effort goes into merchandising and checkout conversion. Best when selling products is your primary business model.
Headless
Content decoupled from presentation. Headless delivers the fastest page loads and multi-channel publishing, though it needs ongoing developer resourcing. Best for high-traffic sites with a technical team and the budget to match.
Squarespace
Squarespace is an all-in-one website building platform that allows individuals and businesses to create professional, modern, and responsive websites without requiring advanced coding skills.
Bigcommerce
BigCommerce is suitable for startups, growing businesses, and large enterprises looking to build high-performing online stores. With flexible customization, strong integrations, and built-in e-commerce features, it helps businesses create seamless shopping experiences and scale their online operations efficiently.
WooCommerce
WooCommerce is a powerful, flexible, and open-source e-commerce platform built for WordPress. It allows businesses to easily transform a WordPress website into a fully functional online store and sell physical or digital products.
Convertflow
ConvertFlow is a powerful conversion optimization and lead generation platform that helps businesses turn website visitors into leads and customers. It provides tools to create engaging pop-ups, forms, quizzes, surveys, sticky bars, and personalized calls-to-action without requiring advanced coding skills.

Web Design & Development: Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know before starting a website project costs, timelines, platform choice, and ownership. Clear answers to the questions we're asked most, with no vague agency hedging.
Can’t find your answer?
If you have questions or need more details, feel free to reach out.
01 What's the difference between web design and web development?
Web design covers how a site looks and feels — layout, typography, colour, and user experience. Web development covers how it’s built — code, CMS setup, integrations, and performance. Most projects need both. When they’re split across separate vendors, the handoff is where quality gets lost.
02 How long does it take to build a website?
Most professional websites take 8 to 16 weeks. A 5–10 page site takes 6–8 weeks; a 15–30 page site takes 10–14 weeks; e-commerce and custom builds take 12–24 weeks. WebBirds engagements typically run 12 weeks across six phases. The most common delay isn’t development — it’s content and feedback turnaround.
03 Which platform should I choose: WordPress, Webflow, or Shopify?
Choose WordPress for content-heavy, SEO-driven sites needing maximum flexibility. Choose Webflow for design-led marketing sites where your team wants visual editing without developer dependency. Choose Shopify if selling products is your primary business model. Consider headless only if you have high traffic and ongoing technical resources.
04 Will a redesign hurt my current search rankings?
It can — if it’s done without a redirect strategy. We map every existing URL to its new equivalent with 301 redirects before launch, preserve pages that already rank, maintain internal link structure, and monitor Google Search Console for 30 days after go-live. Done properly, a redesign usually improves rankings.
05 Do I own my website after it's built?
Yes, completely. You own the design files, the code, the content, and every hosting and domain account. We don’t build on proprietary systems that lock you in, and we don’t hold credentials. If you ever move to another agency, everything transfers without negotiation.
06 Can I update the website myself after launch?
Yes. Every site we build uses reusable content blocks and a clearly structured CMS, so your team can edit text, swap images, add pages, and publish posts without touching code. Handover includes a CMS training session and written documentation covering your component library and content model.
07 What's included in a website maintenance plan?
Care plans cover core, theme, and plugin updates; daily backups with tested restore; uptime and security monitoring; monthly performance reporting; and a defined allocation of content or design changes each month. Plans scale with site complexity. Maintenance is optional — you’re never required to stay on one.
08 Do you handle SEO as part of the build?
Technical SEO is built in as standard: site architecture, semantic markup, schema, metadata, Core Web Vitals optimisation, mobile-first structure, and XML sitemaps. Ongoing SEO campaigns — content strategy, link acquisition, and monthly reporting — are a separate engagement that can run alongside or after the build.
09 What if I'm not happy with the design?
Design happens in stages with approval gates. Wireframes are agreed before UI design begins, and UI design is approved before development starts. Each stage includes structured revision rounds. Nothing moves forward without your sign-off, which means disagreements surface in week three rather than week ten.
10 Do you work with businesses outside Texas?
Yes. WebBirds is headquartered in Mesquite, Texas, and works with clients across Dallas–Fort Worth, the wider United States, and internationally — including North America, Canada, and the Middle East. Projects run remotely with scheduled video check-ins at each phase gate.
